Located approximately 4 hours from Surabaya, the capital of East Java, is the breathtaking active volcano of Mount Bromo. This significant cultural landmark for the people of Java is a geographical masterpiece surrounded by the spectacular Bromo Semeru National Park 

 

The Tenggar people will visit annually during the festival of Kasada to show their respect to the Prince who unselfishly gave his life for his family. Each year many will sacrifice goods and money into the Volcano to appease the Gods.

 

People flock from all over the Globe to witness this incredible volcano and its remarkable setting. Many watch the sunrise over Mount Bromo from the neighbouring mountain, Mount Penayakan, while others will walk to the heart of the volcano. Walking to the crater of Mount Bromo is not incredibly challenging and only takes approximately 45 minutes.
